What is your role at PMX?
I play a distribution-focused role at PMX, where I engage with high-quality advisory businesses and partner with them to strengthen their investment propositions. My role goes beyond simply introducing products and solutions, it’s about understanding how advisers think about their clients, their processes and their long-term vision, and then aligning that with PMX’s capabilities. Ultimately, it’s about building partnerships that are both commercially meaningful and sustainable over time.
What attracted you to PMX?
The calibre of individuals at PMX was immediately evident, but what stood out even more was the firm’s approach to working with financial advisers - it’s not transactional, it’s genuinely partnership-driven.
There is also a clear understanding within the business of how asset management in South Africa is evolving, particularly around centralised investment propositions and the role of technology. Being part of a firm that is not only aware of that shift, but actively shaping it, was a strong draw for me.
What keeps you motivated?
My family and the responsibility I carry towards the next generation are a big part of that, but it also extends into the work I do. I’m motivated by the idea of building something meaningful over time; both personally and professionally, guided by clear values and a long-term vision.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time in environments that allow me to slow down and be present. That often looks like cooking and refining new dishes, playing piano while my wife sings, and spending quality time with family and friends. Those moments create balance and perspective, which I find incredibly important.
Why do you stay at PMX?
My role aligns closely with what I naturally enjoy; building relationships and engaging in meaningful investment and strategy discussions. At the same time, PMX offers an environment where I am constantly learning, whether through the people I work with or the nature of the conversations we’re having with partners. At this stage of my career, that combination of alignment and growth is incredibly valuable.
