What is your role at PMX?
I am an Investment Operations Specialist at PortfolioMetrix. My role focuses on supporting the smooth implementation of investment decisions across our funds and model portfolios. This include facilitating portfolio implementation, reconciliations, reporting, process improvements, and working closely with portfolio managers, analysts, custodians, administrators and technology teams. In simple terms, I help turn investment decisions into action, making sure the details are handled properly, the process runs smoothly, and the spreadsheets don't get too much personality.
What attracted you to PMX?
What attracted me to PMX was the opportunity to be part of a business that combines investment expertise, innovation and a strong client-focused culture. I also liked that PMX does not feel like the kind of place where you are boxed into one narrow function. There is room to learn, take ownership and get involved in meaningful work, which is great for someone like me who enjoys understanding how all the moving parts fit together.
What keeps you motivated?
I am motivated by solving problems and improving the way things work. In operations, small improvements can make a big difference, whether that is reducing manual work, strengthening controls, improving reporting or making a process more efficient. There is also something strangely satisfying about turning a messy spreadsheet or manual process into something cleaner, faster and less likely to cause a headache later.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, watching and playing sport, and spending time with family and friends. I have always enjoyed team environments, especially through rugby, although these days my recovery time is probably longer than I would like to admit. I think sport has shaped the way I approach work as well — with discipline, accountability and a strong team mindset.

I stay at PMX because it is a place where I have been able to grow, take on more responsibility and continue learning. I have had the opportunity to progress within the business, work with talented people and contribute to meaningful improvements in our operations. The culture encourages ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, and there is always a new challenge to get stuck into — usually just when you think you have finally cleared your inbox.
