Meet the Leadership team: Sharné Sanders

Tell us about your role as Chief Commercial Officer

For several years, I led the Operations function at PortfolioMetrix, including as Head of Investment Operations and later as Joint COO, where I was responsible for ensuring that global operations were robust, scalable, and well governed across regions. Having spent three years with PMX in Johannesburg and another four in our London office, I gained a broad understanding of how the business operates across different regions. 

In January 2026, I transitioned into the role of Chief Commercial Officer, where I now focus on stewarding the firm’s global commercial agenda, driving sustainable growth, strengthening distribution and marketing capability, and ensuring our commercial strategy is executed with the same discipline and integrity that underpinned our operations.

What attracted you to PortfolioMetrix, and what keeps you motivated to stay? 

I was drawn to PortfolioMetrix by its unique value proposition and the fast-paced, dynamic environment. The continuous evolution of the business, my role and the variety each day brings have kept me motivated and engaged over the years.

How do you like to spend your time when you’re not at work?  

When I’m not at work, I’m almost always either organising something or spending time with my husband.  I enjoy staying active and unwinding with a good book, and I value making time to recharge outside of work. 

What do you like the most about PortfolioMetrix?  

I really appreciate working for an organisation that stays ahead by constantly innovating and adapting. I’ve found that the dynamic environment keeps things interesting and has provided me with endless opportunities to learn and grow.
